To complement the contemporary feel and design of this newly remodeled house we used plantings to create a graphic pattern on the ground, punctuated by mossy boulders and beautifully branched trees. The front garden while delineated from the street with a new wood and cable fence, is public and functions as an intimate entry sequence. Acid etched concrete squares guide you through the garden to the front door. While the back garden, with its simpler gestures makes the most of the wonderful view over the city, the Willamette river and Mt Hood. The colors and textures of the two spaces link them and work in concert with the colors and materials of the house.
