Schematic design begins with the programmatic goals you’ve given us, which we develop into a complete design. The design is then drawn and colored in such a way as to fully convey the proposed landscape. This usually consists of an illustrative plan, but occasionally will include a section or elevation drawing as well. Our goal is for you to be able to imagine what it will be like to walk in these spaces.

A good schematic design sets the stage for the things that will really make a garden sing. The resolution of all the details (such as specific materials, dimensions, and individual plants) will come with design development and construction documentation.
